Inspirational speaker and coach Mark Allen, six-time Ironman World Champion and ESPN’s Greatest Endurance Athlete of All Time, will be visiting Omaha on August 14th at an event hosted by Drs. Jan and Harris Frankel of Nebraska Medicine and Ronald McDonald House Charities in Omaha. Join us for lunch, and to hear Mark share his personal story of resilience, with all proceeds benefiting the resilient families staying at the House.
Mark won 66 of the 69 races he competed in during his fifteen-year career and was a top three finisher in ninety percent of all triathlons he entered. He went undefeated in twenty races over a three-year span from 1988-1990. Mark was named “Triathlete of the Year” six times by Triathlete Magazine, and after retiring in 1996 was called “The World’s Fittest Man” by Outside magazine.
Since retiring from competition Mark has worked as a sports commentator and advisor for NBC. He has also spoken to many Fortune 500 companies, including American Express, Oracle, FranklinCovey, and Northwestern Mutual Financial Network. He and Brant Secunda coauthored the award winning book Fit Soul, Fit Body: 9 Keys to a Healthier, Happier You. Mark’s latest book The Art of Competition has won book awards in three separate categories: sports, inspiration and design.
