When you cook a meal for our families, you’re providing much more than just food. After long days in the hospital, families have a chance to sit down and enjoy a home-cooked meal. This also provides an opportunity for all of our families to talk about their days and lean on each other for support.

Businesses, civic organizations, church groups, and many other volunteers regularly participate in our Meals That Heal program, but we are always looking for even more amazing groups of people willing to help our families.

If you would like to join our Meals That Heal program, please read our Meals That Heal handbook. This handbook includes frequently asked questions, as well as information regarding meal preparation. Group leaders are encouraged to forward this document to all volunteers in the group.

Meals That Heal groups are asked to bring a $120 donation. In our year of growth, we look to groups to help us maintain programs like Meals That Heal, so that our families can continue to focus on hope and healing. As our House is currently undergoing construction to double in size, we are busy preparing to feed up to 40 families each night upon completion of the expanded House. These donations will help us to ensure that we are able to continue providing for our families, since $120 helps one family for one night at our House. If you are interested in learning about our Cooks in the Kitchen sponsorship, are interested in signing up for a Meals That Heal date, or have any other questions or concerns, please contact Alexandra Benson at abenson@rmhcomaha.org or 402-346-9377.
